2014-OCT-Root CauseWould you like to provide your employees with the skills to prevent product defects or improve a process? Or perhaps discover why a break-down in the process occurred in the first place? Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is a disciplined approach to problem solving. Once a root cause is identified and remedied, final system outcomes will improve – preventing an occurrence from happening again. Northwest Industrial Resource Center (NWIRC) is offering RCA training on October 11th in Meadville, PA. Participants will learn how to clearly define the problem, when to use anecdotal evidence and when to use hard data, how to develop a sampling strategy and collect data, as well as several analytical tools and when each is most appropriate to use. This session is ideal for various roles in the organization like quality managers, safety and risk managers, process engineers, process owners, and anyone who wants to improve their ability to solve recurring problems.

The instructor for the course is Megan E. Burns, Regional Managing Director at InSource Solutions. Megan, a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, has more than 15 years of industrial engineering experience in a variety of operational environments. In addition to leading her own projects, she has trained and mentored hundreds of others from companies such as GE, American Eagle Outfitters, Bombardier, Foamex International.
