Statistical Process Control
May 24, 2016

Manufacturing companies strive for a culture of continuous improvement and statistical process control (SPC) consists of basic methods for monitoring, controlling, and improving a process through statistical analysis. SPC charts are powerful tools to alert you to process issues that could potentially lead to a defect. Knowing this information and acting quickly to adjust the process can often save time and money.

Some of the objectives for the course include:

  • Learn how SPC charts integrate into an overall quality management system
  • Learn how to select and use the proper control chart
  • Learn how to establish control limits
  • Establish rules for out of control occurrences
  • Demonstrate how to gather data, construct a control chart, and monitor a process

Assessing Your Quality Management System Effectiveness
June 1, 2016

The definition of “effectiveness” is the ability to meet objectives and be successful in producing a desired result. This course will deliver a thorough introduction to internal auditing and its role in verifying the effectiveness of an organization’s Quality System.

Key topics include:

  • Elements of Internal Auditing
  • Creating and Using Audit Reports
  • System vs. Process Auditing
  • Determining and Interpreting a Standard

In addition to this, attendees will be instructed in the four phases of executing an audit: Audit Preparation, Conducting the Audit, Audit Reporting, and Audit Closure. Training will conclude with Audit Role play where students have the opportunity to practice material they’ve learned.

Both of the above courses are instructed by Sara Goncus, Director of Training and Development, Operations Strategy Consulting. Goncus holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh, PA), is a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and an RABQSA certified QMS internal auditor and a certified AIAG ISO/TS 16949 auditor. Prior to joining Operations Strategy, Sara worked as a Quality Assurance Engineer for Lockheed Martin at Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico
