What is your current role in manufacturing?
I’m an Advanced Process Improvement Engineer at Milliken & Company. My responsibilities include reviewing and updating standard manufacturing procedures, continuous skills development of operators, analytical lab testing, and many more.
Describe your path to get to where you are today.
After high school, I attended college to major in mathematics and become a school teacher. During student teaching, I realized that career wasn’t for me. After graduation, i went back to college again to major in chemistry. That led me to some more education in engineering and I found Milliken during my first job search. I am really enjoying the world of chemical manufacturing.
What is your Superpower?
I am always exploring. Just because you’re good at one thing doesn’t mean you can’t learn another. I ask lots of questions and make sure I always love what I’m doing.
What do you think the future holds for your career or others you inspire?
Students should plan to job shadow as much as possible and ask a lot of questions.
