Cody Passilla, Business & Development Manager, Pennco Tool & Die
What is your current role in manufacturing?
We manufacture parts for the following industries: medical, aerospace, electronics, automation, and automotive. I’m the Business & Development Manager and focus on working with customers, managing employees, sales, and quoting work. I get to come into work and do something different every day. Whether it’s taking on a new customer, dealing with an issue, or helping grow our business.
Describe your path to get to where you are today.
I graduated from Meadville Area Senior High and also attended Crawford Tech for Drafting and Design. I went on further and got my bachelors degree at Robert Morris University in Business Management with a minor in Supply Chain.
What is your Superpower?
Being part of our family business. Our business is a 3rd generation manufacturing shop, and my brother and I are just starting to get involve in the business end of things.
What do you think the future holds for your career or others you inspire?
For students who are undecided on a career, look at a trade. Quit thinking it’s necessary for everyone to go to college. There are great jobs out there that you don’t need a college degree for and manufacturing is one of them.
