The Cybersecurity Boot Camp in Erie on March 28th will help companies understand cyber-threats and develop a framework to reduce their risks. The program is sponsored by Northwest Industrial Resource Center (NWIRC), Northwest Commission Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), and Gannon Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

One of the featured speakers is Matthew Margosian, Chief Information Officer at Widget Financial. He has been with the organization since 2003 and has served as the CIO for the past 10 years. He believes that network and computer-related security issues are of the highest importance and has spent years educating others on these concepts, mostly to those with little to no experience in the field. In 2014, Margosian was fortunate enough to assist and be recognized by the FBI in an investigation that lead to numerous convictions. He will will discuss his first-hand experiences with cybersecurity, best practices, and lessons learned.

The afternoon portion of the program will focus on a detailed review of cybersecurity requirements for companies who have contracts (or are subcontractors) with the Department of Defense, presented by the Northwest Commission Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC).
