The What’s So Cool About Manufacturing student video contest is coming to Erie County. This competition features accurate images of today’s manufacturing environments and abundant career choices through the eyes of middle school students by having them do company research, conduct interviews and create a video about a local manufacturer. The program culminates with a 3-day online voting period for the school video entries and an Awards Gala in March 2018. The Northwest Industrial Resource Center (NWIRC) is partnering with middle schools, manufacturers, and community agencies (including Career Street and WQLN) to roll this program out to school districts in Erie County. While we gear up to engage the schools upon the start of the new school year, we are looking for companies who want to get involved. This is a great opportunity to help create awareness of all the cool manufacturing careers in our own backyard.
