Uniquely Abled LogoThe Uniquely Abled Academy (UAA) at Crawford Tech will host a free employer workshop on December 8 from 9:30am-12:00pm. Manufacturing companies from the region are invited to learn more about UAA, meet the current UAA students and instructors, and learn about services from organizations in connection with new hiring.

Another highlight of the morning is a session on ‘Autism 101: Embracing Neurodiversity in the Workplace’ presented by Tish Bartlett, Executive Director of the Autism Society Northwestern PA. You will learn the invaluable benefits of integrating individuals living with Autism into your team and gain insights into Autism spectrum traits, fostering an inclusive environment, and unleashing untapped talent. Equip your organization with the tools to foster an environment where every individual’s potential is valued. UAA is a CNC machinist training program geared for individuals on the high-functioning autism spectrum. UAA at Crawford Tech in Meadville is the first UAA in Pennsylvania. The 2nd is the UAA at the Erie County College in Erie (supported by the Employment and Training Administration of the US Department and the Erie Community Foundation). This UAA at Crawford Tech is 100% supported by the Employment and Training Administration of the US Department of labor as part of an award totaling $60,320 and $10,000 AmericaWorks Minigrant with 0% and $0 funded from non-governmental sources.
