NLMK Tour and Networking

NLMK is the first of a series of tours at manufacturing facilities in northwest PA! It’s an opportunity to connect with your peers from across the region and strengthen this sector partnership for a greater impact on manufacturing in Pennsylvania. Increased networking is a much needed focus identified by the regional industry leaders and to answer this the regional partners came up with the idea of 8 GR8T Tours.
The tour will consist of NLMK’s Hot Rolling and Cold Rolling mills.
Please arrive at our Farrell facility approximately 5 to 10 minutes early. When you approach the gate, pull up to the guard shack and let the guard know you are here to meet with me for a tour. The guard will direct you to park at our main conference room. To get to that parking area, you will drive through the front gate, past the HR building (building on the left with 3 large coils of steel next to it) and make a left turn immediately after the HR building (before you cross the railroad tracks). Park down approximately two thirds down the length of the building. There will be a sign indicating where the conference room is. John Kimpan will meet you there. (see attached picture)
Once you arrive, we’ll come into the main conference room to go through some introductions, a short presentation and safety briefing. John Kimpan will also provide you with some of the mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE) items required to walk through the mills.
NLMK will provide you with the following PPE:
- Hardhat
- Safety glasses
- Hearing protection
You will need to bring the following PPE items with you:
- Long sleeve shirt
- Long pants
- Metatarsal-protection boots
***You must bring these three items with you. If you are unable to bring them, let me know ASAP. You will not be allowed to tour the facility without these items ***
As you will be touring in the operational production areas, there is a possibility that the clothes you’re wearing will get dirty with dirt, grease, oil, and/or grime.
*Registration is limited to manufacturers. Please arrive on time!
The tour at NLMK will be limited to 20 people total. Below is a map for parking and entrance.
