APQP is a structured method of defining and establishing the steps to ensure that a product meets customer expectations. As part of Quality Management Core Tools, the focus of this course is to review and provide the basic concepts of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval (PPAP) Processes. You will gain an understanding of:
- Five phases of APQP
- Creating a Product Quality Plan
- Design Process Failure Mode and Effects
- Analysis (DFMEA / PFMEA)
- Developing a Quality Control Plan
The course also prepares participants with PPAP process requirements, as well as the PPAP submission and approval process.
Instructor: Lee Gilmore, Future State Engineering. Lee has spent over 20 years working in the automotive and aerospace industries. In this time, he has had the opportunity to learn first-hand what it takes to run and manage a successful business, team, and department. Lee has audited more than 50 different companies and applied not only his experience to help make them better but used their best practices to help improve the companies he works with and for. Lee is a certified IATF16949/ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, VDA licensed Auditor, Product Safety Representative, and AS9100 lead auditor. Additionally, he holds a certification in Lean Manufacturing. Lee has spent his entire career focused on building and maintaining quality management systems using the core tools including APQP.
