As part of Quality Management Core Tools, the focus of this course is to review and provide participants the basic concepts of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval (PPAP) Processes. The course is designed to give participants an understanding of the 5 phases of APQP, including how to create a Product Quality Plan, an understanding of Design and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA / PFMEA), and how to develop a Quality Control Plan. The course also prepares participants to understand the PPAP process requirements as well as understand the PPAP submission and approval process.
Instructor: Lee Gilmore, Future State Engineering. Lee has spent over 20 years working in the automotive and aerospace industries. In this time, he has had the opportunity to learn first-hand what it takes to run and manage a successful business, team, and department. Lee has audited more than 50 different companies and applied not only his experience to help make them better but used their best practices to help improve the companies he works with and for. Lee is a certified IATF16949/ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, VDA licensed Auditor, Product Safety Representative, and AS9100 lead auditor. Additionally, he holds a certification in Lean Manufacturing. Lee has spent his entire career focused on building and maintaining quality management systems using the core tools including APQP.
