BECOMING AN EMPLOYER OF CHOICE: Using Company “Culture” as a Competitive Advantage
Would you like to make a significant impact in the productivity of your employees and the profitability of your business? Would you like your employees to come energized to work every day and enthused about the team getting work out the door? Would you like to stop the cycle—and associated costs—of continually hiring and onboarding employees?
There has been a lot of talk in the manufacturing community about the difficulty in finding employees who have a great work ethic, who want to come to work every single day (or even stay the whole day) and be productive. All too often we hear, “We just can’t find qualified people.” In fact, some manufacturers think it’s impossible with the newest generation of employees. But it’s not. Company culture is based on the beliefs and resulting behaviors that determine how employees interact with management, coworkers, customers and others. It is the difference between engagement and disengagement, and we believe your company culture CAN be your competitive advantage! But it often requires a different mindset—from the employer.
Did you know, according to a Gallup survey, across all US industries…
- 52% of employees are not engaged or inspired at work
- Companies with engaged employees outperform those without by up to 202%
- Highly engaged employees are 87% less likely to leave their jobs than their counterparts.
- Peers and camaraderie are the #1 reason employees go the extra mile
There are a few employers who rarely advertise for job openings but begin by checking their waiting list of potential qualified candidates. These companies have become known in their communities as an employer of choice. How? They don’t look at employees as simply a means to accomplish a task but have created policies, processes and practices to truly work as a team and insure employee issues are at the bottom of their “what fires do I need to put out today” list. During this 1-day interactive session, participants will learn:
