Building a culture of continuous improvement requires all employees, both production and administrative, to have a basic understanding of lean principles and how they can be applied. The class combines lecture and simulation to provide a firm foundation of lean manufacturing tools, such as Standardized Work, Teams, Workplace Organization, and others. Manufacturers who embed a culture of continuous improvement frequently report cost savings, efficiency increases, and job satisfaction gains.

About the Presenter: Chad Courtney, NWIRC’s Operational Excellence Specialist II.

Chad Courtney draws on 20+ years in cabinet and fiberglass manufacturing, including plant and operations management. He’s led lean transformations, improved throughput and quality, and built cross-functional teams. Chad is known for a strong focus on operational safety, team leadership, and customer satisfaction.
