NWIRC’s Manufacturing Career Readiness Training serves as an extension of your company’s on-boarding process – by providing employees basic career readiness, communication, problem-solving skills, and motivation. The program is career-focused versus job-focused – with the ultimate goal of helping individuals successfully integrate into your company’s culture and become long-term, loyal employees. The training is also beneficial for employees who need to enhance their soft skills.

The training includes a series of (4) weekly virtual 90-minute sessions held via Zoom. Participants will need a computer with internet, video camera, and audio capabilities for the live and interactive sessions.

Manufacturing Career Readiness Training Topics

Manufacturing 101:
Review terminology and concepts commonly found in the manufacturing environment (such as lean, quality management, 8 wastes, certifications, etc.).

Communication and Conflict:
Basic essential communications skills, dealing with conflict, and working with people who have different communication styles.

Problem Solving and Critical Thinking:
Provides an understanding of why we think the way we do and various ways to become better problem solvers.

Goal Setting:
Setting personal and professional goals to build a career versus showing up for a paycheck. Helping participants to find their ‘why’ and letting it be the driver to enjoy work and constantly improve skills.

About the Presenter:

Molly Reichard joined NWIRC in June 2016 as Training & Events Coordinator, and after 6 years, transitioned to Culture Development & Training Specialist. She leads employee development training geared for manufacturing companies across 13 counties of northwest and north central Pennsylvania during public sessions and onsite at their facilities. Molly is also the coordinator and facilitator for NWIRC’s Lean Together™ program.
