NWIRC is pleased to partner with Northern Pennsylvania Regional College (NPRC) and Future State Engineering to design a series of four online Lunch and Learn sessions which were created for the busy individual. These one-hour, online sessions are no cost to you and are filled with valuable information that you can take away and apply to your organization.
This series is designed to share information on the Operational Excellence, how to improve business performance, and provide more value to your customers. The topics are meant to be taken together as they build on one-another leading up to the fourth session on Operational Excellence which is a combined approach utilizing all the topics talked about. We hope you find this series beneficial and engaging.

Description: The presentation will give participants the basic understanding of Theory of Constraints and the practical application of the concepts in an organization. The presentation will dispel the myth that Theory of Constraints is just a theory and will outline the practical set of tools and techniques that can be applied to any organization to achieve breakthrough improvement in performance. Topics will include systems thinking, the concepts of necessary
and sufficient conditions, what are leverage points and how to identify the constraint in an organization, and how to create buy-in to organizational change by creating win-win solutions. Examples of the application of the principles will be discussed along with results that organizations have achieve by implementing the concepts.

Description: The presentation will give participants the basic understanding of what is Lean. It will discuss the five principles of Lean and the approach that many organizations take to implementing Lean and the challenges they encounter. The topics covered will include define value, map the value streams, flow, pull, and perfection which will be discussed in detail. In addition, we’ll talk about value and its relationship between price, cost, and profit.

Description: The presentation will give participants the basic understanding of what is Six Sigma. It will discuss the Six Sigma DMAIC process and that framework and how it is used to improve business process performance using statistical techniques as well as the use of qualitative data. The presentation will dive deeper into the topics of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) and its application to a process and, more importantly, to a system.

Description: The presentation will give participants the basic understanding of what is
Operational Excellence using TOC, Lean, and Six Sigma as a comprehensive approach to achieve breakthrough improvement performance. It will discuss how to use system thinking, how to focus, and how to select the appropriate techniques to improve business performance. The presentation will help individuals fully understand the buy-in process as well as the necessary conditions to ensure an organization’s success and sustainability.
Instructor: Max Krug, Future State Engineering. Max Krug provides operational excellence services expertise to organizations with the primary objective of achieving breakthrough financial and operational performance. Max has 38 years of experience in operations, and his range of expertise and experience includes manufacturing operations, distribution, and project management.
