In her own words: Haley Mahoney, Human Resource Administrator, Advantage Sales & Supply Co.
What or who fueled your interest in manufacturing?
I’m interested in manufacturing for many reasons. One of the main reasons is that the product possibilities are endless. The products are created with raw materials so the customers and end users can custom order their products in most situations.
What is your current role in manufacturing?
My current role is Human Resource Administrator. I am responsible for maintaining employee records, job postings, and compliance with federal and state laws. I perform administrative tasks relating to newly hired employees, terminations, and benefits. I also organize and plan training opportunities for employees to help advance in their careers.
Describe your path to get to where you are today.
I have been at Advantage Sales since I was a Junior in high school working as an Office Assistant doing miscellaneous work such as filing, cleaning, and any projects needed. When I finished High School, I continued working at Advantage Sales while I attended Butler County Community College in Brockway and graduated with my Associates Degree in Business Administration. Through college, I worked as a production assistant completing paperwork and orders for the production shop. I slowly started helping with benefits, time & attendance, and other tasks that led to my position as a Human Resource Administrator.
What is your Superpower?
Multi-tasking – allowing me to keep up with the many aspects of my job.
Why is your role important to others – like to customers or end users?
The training aspect of my role is probably the most important to customers and end users because of the skills and certifications that manufacturing our products safely requires.
What do you think the future holds for your career or others you inspire?
I hope my future holds many more learning experiences of manufacturing and business operations to help me grow in my role.
