iPhone and ComputersThe NWIRC’s Morning Huddle series will begin in October with a focus on enterprise resource planning systems (ERPs), Make Manufacturing Software Work For You: Navigating from QuickBooks, Peachtree, or Excel to ERP. The program will be held on October 6, 2015 from 8:30-10:00am in Erie, PA at Knowledge Park.

Manufacturers often look to ERPs to simplify and streamline business processes. They also hope to improve and maintain an operational competitive advantage. Numerous factors must be evaluated when selecting and implementing an ERP to ensure the system doesn’t fall short of your expectations. There is a sea of information out there and this program will help define elements to consider as you begin to chart your course. Discussion will include:

  • How ERP differs from basic accounting systems.
  • Ways ERP will affect your organization.
  • Factors to consider when planning a transition.
  • Factors to consider when selecting ERP solutions.
  • Third party enhancements & add-on software.
  • Tips for avoiding delays or failure.

The presenter for the program is Joe Kloecker of Lakeview Consulting Services. Kloecker has over thirty years’ experience in information technology. He has advised a range of organizations, from small start-up businesses to large international manufacturing companies, in selecting appropriate software and planning for disaster recovery and business continuity. Prior to his current consulting practice, Mr. Kloecker worked for IBM and International Paper Company in the areas of systems engineering, marketing and consulting positions.
