Jonathan M. D’Silva, Manager of the law firm MMI Intellectual Property, will be a featured speaker at the upcoming Manufacturers Growth Conference in St Marys (May 17) and Erie (May 18). His presentation, “Intellectual Property: Copyrights, Patents, Trademarks, and Trade Secrets”, will provide a thorough overview of what IP is and specific points to consider. He says, “everyone has IP, but very few understand what it means to own it, exploit it, and protect it.”
D’Silva received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degrees in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Cornell University. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University at Buffalo School of Law. He is a Registered Patent Attorney and admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, New York, and the District of Columbia. His practice covers all aspects of intellectual property law from prosecuting patent, trademark, and copyright applications, to drafting agreements for the sale or licensing of intellectual property, to the enforcement of intellectual property rights.
The Manufacturers Growth Conference, hosted by the Northwest Industrial Resource Center (NWIRC), will be held in St Marys (May 17) and Erie (May 18) from 7:30am-4:00pm. The event is sponsored by PNC, Knox Law, and Ben Franklin Technology Partners and information will focus on ‘growing people’ and ‘growing revenue’.
