cog-07-1512904-1599x1066Northwest Industrial Resource Center (NWIRC) is searching for a qualified student to serve as Manufacturing Engineer Apprentice for a company in Venango County.

Our client is seeking a qualified apprentice to drive continuous improvement and waste reduction by planning new process workflows, identifying and implementing improvement to existing processes, and develop new process workflows as new product lines emerge.

The apprentice will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Create and manage process documentation such as work and set-up instructions
  • Optimize the manufacturing process to improve quality and material flow, while reducing cycle times and set-up times
  • Update plant layouts in AutoCAD

Candidates are required to be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a four-year degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering and have the ability to work at a Venango County facility. Prior manufacturing experience is a plus, along with understanding of lean manufacturing, JIT, OEE, line sequencing, and KANBAN.

The position is available for the time period January 2016 through August 2016. Successful apprentices have the potential for full-time employment opportunities with this growing manufacturer.
