Northwest Industrial Resource Center (NWIRC) had a blast celebrating MFG Day over the last 7 days….from touring along with students on MFG Day October 6th to capping it off with the Manufacturer and Business Association MFG Event in Erie at the Bayfront Convention Center.

NWIRC was pleased to offer small grants to technical schools throughout our 13-county region to offset field trip expenses for their visits to manufacturers. Here are photo collages of some of the tours.

At the MFG Day event in Erie on October 11th, NWIRC’s Susan Hileman was a breakout session presenter on the topic of Animatronics. At our MFG Day exhibit, NWIRC staff spoke some of the 2000+ students attending throughout the day. We asked the students, “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?” to go along with the launch of the student video contest in Erie County. Many responded with answers such as Robotics, 3-D Printing, and making stuff…..while only a few mentioned job opportunities and money. It was great seeing so many students get excited to learn more about manufacturing and the latest technologies.

While everyday is MFG Day at NWIRC….we are already looking forward to the 2018 celebration!
