In his own words: Nick Piccirilli, Junior Production Assistant, Joy Cone

What or who fueled your interest in manufacturing?

I have a number of friends who work at Joy Cone and they encouraged me to apply. The company offers me job security which was important to me since I don’t have a college degree.

What is your current role in manufacturing?

As a Junior Production Assistant, I fix and adjust ovens as well as run production lines, cleaning, and helping out anywhere around the plant.

Describe your path to get to where you are today.

I started out as a packer and applied for a promotion to the role I have now because I want to advance myself. I plan to continue working and expanding my skills.

What is your Superpower?

I am a fast learner and absorb information quickly that is shared with me. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with my co-workers and hope to continually grow in my experience to benefit others.

Why is your role important to others – like to customers or end users?

I fix problems around the plant so our end customers don’t have any problems with the product they receive and consume.

What do you think the future holds for your career or others you inspire?

Being just 24 and already having had a promotion within a year of employment at such a great company is very satisfying. I hope to keep growing with Joy Cone. There will always be opportunities that come along with what I’m doing and I’m excited to see what they are and where I will be by the end of my career.
