The NIST MEP (National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership) works with small and
mid-sized U.S. manufacturers to help them create and retain jobs, increase profits, and save time and money. The FY2015 client impact numbers and survey data were recently released.
The Northwest Industrial Resource Center (NWIRC) is one of seven MEP Centers in Pennsylvania and serves 13 counties in Northwest, PA. Each center is a public-private partnership among federal and state governments, private sector management service providers, economic development agencies, and colleges and universities.
NWIRC focuses on advanced manufacturing through 1) manufacturing technology acceleration services, like new product development and technology transfer; 2) STEM apprenticeships, matching university students with client manufacturer’s projects; 3) facilitated management services; and 4) training events.
