As part of the MEP National Network’s Supplier Scouting initiative, NWIRC and its partners leverage extensive relationships and knowledge of U.S. manufacturing capabilities to identify manufacturers with production and technical capabilities and connect them with larger and more diverse supply chains of larger companies. Additionally, identifying and connecting suppliers with purchasers, responding to the stated needs of businesses or agencies to meet specific requirements. We can identify companies with target attributes (i.e., engineering, prototyping, production) and capabilities (i.e., products, certifications, markets served, etc.) needed by specific customers.
NWIRC supports manufacturing companies across Northwest and North Central Pennsylvania by helping them identify and connect with regional suppliers and partners to meet specific sourcing needs. To learn more about Supplier Scouting opportunities, please email NWIRC’s Michael Griffith.
Finding the right supplier to deliver the right product at the right time can be a daunting task. Supplier Landscape Mapping is a research and analytical exercise to audit, define, and map critical manufacturing ecosystems, resiliency levels, growth opportunities, and market intelligence. Mapping exercises typically include research on the state of a given market and its outlook; articulation of supply chain tiers of operation; identification of specific suppliers and their capabilities; and a summary analysis of strengths, weaknesses, and gaps. This process also works to understand the full extent of the inputs needed for production and also identifying gaps in supplier diversity to find new sources of companies, such as women-owned, veteran-owned, minority-owned, etc.
