In October 2016, International Automotive Task Force (IATF), published a revised automotive industry standard to replace ISO/TS 16949:2009. Shortly after the release of the new standard, a blog post by Mark Whitworth, CEO of EASE, cited 5 Critical Things to Think About Right Now”, one of which is to consider the recertification process sooner than later. With time passing quickly and compliance required by September 2018… it may be time to take another look.

The ISO 9001 requirements are now published separately from the new IATF 16949:2016 requirements, however they remain the foundation for the new automotive standard. The ISO 9001:2015 standard must now be understood and utilized in conjunction with IATF 16949.  For that reason, Northwest Industrial Resource Center (NWIRC) is offering a new IATF 16949 Internal Auditor Course that covers both the ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 requirements. This three-day course was developed to cover  requirements of both, including core tools and customer-specific requirements.

The first offering of this course will be on June 13-15, 2017 in St Marys, PA featuring instructor Kevin Smith, President of Vie Associates. Click here for more information and to register.
