Another IATF 16949 Internal Audit Class is wrapping up today in St Marys. This is the second course offered in St Marys recently to help manufacturers with customers within the automotive industry and complying to this quality standard. The 3-day course is led by Kevin Smith, President of Vie Associates.
The next class is scheduled for August 8-10 in Erie. Class size is limited and these sessions fill up fast due to the looming deadlines for compliance, so early registration is recommended. In October 2016, the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) published a revised automotive industry standard to replace ISO/TS 16949:2009. The ISO 9001 requirements are now published separately from the new IATF 16949:2016 requirements, however they remain the foundation for the new automotive standard. As of October 2017, audits will no longer be conducted for the old ISO/TS 16949 and all certifications to this standard will expire in September 2018.
